21st Century Dogs is owned and run by Peter Whittem. After getting his first dog, he set up his business in a bid to do things differently. Group walks are limited to 5 friendly dogs, having smaller groups means we can develop strong relationships with the dogs that we walk so we quickly become friends. All dogs are walked individually by Peter to begin with, so he can get to know them and their little quirks. This temperament test keeps all dogs safe and happy on group walks. Peter will then integrate the dogs into main group walks.
Peter is a Certified Teacher of People and Trainer of Dogs having studied with Jane Ardern, Kennel Club Trainer of the year 2015. Peter was an Instructor at WaggaWuffins Canine College teaching puppy and progressive classes three nights a week between 2018 and 2021.
Our training is focused on teaching your puppy or dog life skills so that they fit perfectly into busy modern family life. I teach obedience too but I’m passionate about teaching life skills like settling in the pub, leaving distractions in the park, walking on a loose lead and not jumping up.
